1. Teachers semester plans; Each teacher talked about her teaching plan for the semester.
2. Parents suggestions; It was suggested some games and fun activities to be included in the classrooms to make the learning process more fun for students.
3. Educational activities; It was decided to have a 2-3 hrs conference regarding Iran by all students towards end of the semester. This can include various subjects about past and present of Iran. We need input from of all parents for finding the subjects. Mrs. Ziba S. who is in charge of this activity will send the project detail to the parents. Each class will have a coordinator to help Mrs. Ziba S. The list is as follow;
a. Kindergarten, Mrs. Sheila S.
b. First grade Beg., Mrs. Lili A.
c. First grade Adv.A, Mrs. Maryam K.
d. First grade Adv. B, Mrs. Simin B.
e. Second grade, Ms. Parivash K.
4. Website; It was recommended the parents to check the website on regular basis. All the school activities will be posted on the website. We currently have a free website and the provider might link the site to the advertisements. If we have enough money in our budget, we can have our private site which costs $135 per year. The decision for having a private site will be made in a few weeks.
5. It was suggested each teacher to get a feedback from her students to find out how to make the classrooms more productive. We will coordinate this activity with the teachers.
6. Mrs. Shirin V. and Mrs. Cresta V. will coordinate performance activities for children Nourooz.
7. Activities outside School; Mr. Freydoon N. is in charge of this activity. This activity is usually the last Friday of every month.
8. Recess Help; We also need help from parents during 10 min recess. We need at least two parents to guard the hallway during recess. Please let me know by Jan. 16, which weeks you can help. Please send me three weeks which you available to help and I’ll pick one or two week(s) of your choices.

November 12, 2006, the beginning of a great program, otherwise known as Indiana Persian School. Indiana Persian School originally began with a couple of parents afraid their children would forget their language and culture. At first, only five students attended, but slowly it grew. A couple more students joined later on, increasing the class size to eight. Soon even more parents wanted their children to join, but the class was already too big. Back then, Persian School was held every Saturday or Sunday at a different house each week, having more than eight students would have caused a problem with space and most importantly, the quality of the teaching. With the word of a Persian School in Indiana passing from parents to parents, numerous dads’ and moms’ asked and pleaded to let their child enter the class, but unfortunately each time the student was turned away. From then on, the parents who founded the Persian School thought on how to solve this space problem. After a couple of weeks the idea came; to rent a building and hold weekly classes there, but with great ideas comes more problems, where to rent? Finally, after vigorous building hunting, a day care center was found with the special help of one of the parents. The original goal was only to offer two classes, but due to such high demand, the number of classes was raised to three after the first week. Soon following, Persian School started a kindergarten level with the aid and suggestion of one of the mothers, and a conversation class for adults. The Indiana Persian School goal is to teach students reading, writing, and the Persian culture, and to show that anyone, no matter what age, can learn Farsi. The success of the school was completely made possible by the special help and volunteering of the parents. Currently, there are 50 students in six classes. Our classes are presently offered in Carmel High School each Sunday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 P.M. Thank you and good luck to another successful year.
